Robert (Bob) John Knudsen

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bob on September 29, 2020. Bob was born March 22, 1926 in Viceroy, Saskatchewan to Alfred and Frances Knudsen. Bob’s earlier years were spent on farms in the Viceroy and Coronach areas. He grew up in a family of ten. Mabel and Bob went to school together at Rock Mountain School. Bob reconnected with Mabel and her daughter Sharon. Bob and Mabel were married June 18, 1947 beginning their life together as a family. Darlene was born before they moved to Regina in 1950 from the Andrews family farm. There he joined the Regina City Police Force. In 1951 moved to Moose Jaw and Moose Jaw became “home”. Bob and Mabel grew their family with the addition of two more daughters Beverly and Geraldine. In 1952 Bob joined the Moose Jaw City Police Force. He retired as an Inspector March 1986. Bob and Mabel spent many winters in Yuma, Arizona and camping trips across Canada and the USA. Bob enjoyed photography, wood working, and genealogy. The most important thing to Bob though was his family. Predeceased by Mabel, June 12, 2017, his wife of 70 years. Bob will be sadly missed by his daughters, Sharon (Dan) Spott, Darlene (Jerry) Warn, Bev (Dennis) Chamberlain, Geraldine (Brian) Wadsworth. Grandchildren, Stacey (Barb), Bob, Angie (Mike), Bill (Jaime); Cliff (Dayna), Don, Tim (Melinda); Kim, Tanya, Dwayne (Katherine). 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Bob is survived by sisters Frances Linquist, Dorothy Mitchell, Evelyn (Wendal) Dreher and Brother Ray (Shirley) Knudsen. Predeceased by brothers Leonard, Harold, Alfred, Walter and sister Olive Korsatz, numerous nieces and nephews. A Private Family Graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A special thank you to the caregivers at West Park Crossing for their kindness and care they provided for our Dad. In living memory of Bob, a memorial planting will be made by Jones - Parkview Funeral Services.
