The family of Patricia Edwardine Mathieson sadly announces her passing on November 15, 2024. Patricia was born to William and Edwardine Hopps on Dec 2, 1931. She spent her early years on South Hill attending King Edward School, and later Central Collegiate. Pat's first job was with the T. Eaton Co., where she met her future husband, Jack. They were married on Sept 3, 1955, and made Moose Jaw their home. After raising her young family, Pat studied both bookkeeping and nutrition and began a successful career as a business owner, operating the Moose Jaw Health Supply Store for many years. Pat was an avid health and fitness enthusiast and remained so until her passing. Pat was a faithful member of St Andrew's United Church, an active member of the UCW and in later years enjoyed singing in the church choir and with the Golden Voices. Jack and Pat loved to dance and spent many hours enjoying Pattern, Line, and Square dancing together. Pat also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their Buffalo Pound Lake cottage and she shared her love for lake life with each new generation. Pat loved to repurpose items and was a master at reusing and recycling to help save our planet. Pat took pride in doing all things to the best of her ability. As a beautiful knitter and meticulous seamstress she used her attention to detail to create many wonderful items. Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma was a "tasty" cook, and an outstanding baker. She loved reading recipes and the kitchen truly was her happy place. "Grandma buns" and cookies were absolute treasures, always made and shared with love. Pat was a gracious, considerate and unassuming lady who loved to have fun and was always up for adventure. She enjoyed vacationing and seeing new places, and whether it was gardening, dressing up in disguise, skating, snowmobiling, ziplining, canoeing or sailing, her enthusiasm for doing things made Mom a pleasure to spend time with and she will be deeply missed. Pat was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack (2003), and her brother Dick (2024). Pat will be lovingly remembered by her Children, Fred (Dawn-Nica), Larry (Shirley), Cheryl (Rob) Chartier, Blain (Steven French). She was the proud grandmother of nine Peter (Colette), Jenny (Chad), Richard (Melissa), Amy (Brett), Caroline (Paul), Kyla (Dave), Matthew, Jared, Starla (Brett), and was delighted to be great-grandmother of 20; Tristan, Matea, Mirai, Kayla, Brady, Shayna, Kayden, Porter, Phineas, Truett, Sutton, Foxtyn, Emma, Hannah, Grayson, Parker, Lily, Jack, Hailey and Hayden; and sister, Norma Hopps.
