Mary Maureen McKenna departed this world after a 1 year and 9 month long battle with cancer on November 10, 2023 at the age of 46.
She attended university in Michigan and Seattle, and worked at various places but her favourite was The Moose Jaw Times Herald.
Her favourite past times were playing video games; especially racing and fantasy. She loved reading and had many books. Mary found joy in cooking, bbqing and feeding her family. She had a generous spirit, always helping where she could. She gave the best hugs and loved nature and water.
One thing she treasured above all else were her beloved dogs, Jeanie and Maisie. Mary has asked that people donate to their local animal shelter or rescue in her memory.
Mary was predeceased by her father, Ken McKenna on April 1, 2021 of cancer. She was survived by her mother Betty, brother Michael, sister Margaret, niece Jade, nephew Aiden, special Aunt Yvonne Wideman, and much loved cousins in Alberta and Ontario.
Many thanks for the blessing of great friends. Cathy who supplied Mary with, “Mary Muffins". Calvin for fresh garden tomatoes for her midnight sandwiches, and Angell and Gladys who would drive in from Moose Jaw to Regina and take her out for Starbucks and Indigo once a week.
The family would also like to thank doctors, Sylvie Jones and Brent Jim, and also the Palliative Services staff for Mary's invaluable care.
