POELZER
Elizabeth Irene Poelzer passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6th, 2025, in Craik, SK. Born on July 6th, 1925, in Tuxford, SK, Elizabeth, affectionately known as "Betty," was the cherished only child of Clarice and Elliot Ranson. A tomboy and a daddy's girl, she loved helping her father with chores and projects around the house and yard.
Betty married her first husband, Clayton Richard Sorenson, and together they welcomed twin daughters, Judy and Joan, in November 1943, followed by a son, Lyle, in January 1950. She dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom until her children were older, then worked full-time as a bookkeeper at Busse Plumbing and Heating in Moose Jaw, SK. Clayton passed away in 1974.
Betty had a zest for life and a variety of hobbies. She enjoyed reading, dancing, playing games, and solving word puzzles, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Clayton Richard Sorenson and Patrick Joseph Poelzer; children, Judy and Lyle; great-granddaughters: Tiffany Cox, Stephanie "Noel" Cox, Emily Forbes, and Abbey McAuley; and son-in-law, Dick McNaughton. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her family: daughter, Joan (Brian) Edmunds, grandson Jeff (Paula) Gaudry and great-granddaughter Sage Gaudry, grandson Chris (Jeanette) Gaudry, great-granddaughter Ashley Gaudry (Darcy) and great-great-granddaughter Caylin Delorme, great-granddaughter Amanda Gaudry and great-great-grandsons Jimi Gaudry-Welscher and Spencer Penner, granddaughter Mitzi Edmunds, great-granddaughter Brianne Cox (Mike), great-great-grandson Phoenix Pitre, and great-granddaughter Madison Halliday (Calum), granddaughter Shannon Smith and great-grandson Bryant Gaudry (MG Go), granddaughter Nicole (Don) Gosling, great-grandson Devon (Layne) Gosling, great-great-grandsons Bennett and Beckham Gosling, and great-great-granddaughter Halston Gosling, great-granddaughter Brandy Gosling (Julian) and great-great-grandson Nixon Corney, grandson Shaun Gaudry (Mary) and great-grandsons George Gaudry and Joel Neuman, granddaughter Marcy (Kelly) Duffey, great-grandson Tyson Duffey, great-granddaughter Rhyann (Trevor) Mattus, great-great-granddaughter Kesslee Mattus, and great-great-grandson Dawson Mattus, great-grandson Calder Duffey (Paige) and great-great-granddaughter Paislee Duffey, granddaughter Audra (Todd) Forbes, great-grandson Justin Morash (Stephanie), great-grandson Drew Forbes (Shantel), great-grandson Bren Forbes (Avery), great-great-grandsons Greyson Forbes and Cade Forbes, and great-great-granddaughter Rylie Forbes, granddaughter Lori McNaughton (Jason), granddaughter Jessica McNaughton (Bill), great-grandson Jacob McAuley, and great-granddaughter Jakson McAuley; daughter-in-law, Ramona Sorenson, granddaughter Rhonda (Rene) Blanchette, great-grandson Jordon Blanchette (Jessica), great-great-grandchildren Bauer and Everleigh, great-grandson Matthew Blanchette (Renee) and great-great-granddaughter Adisyn, great-granddaughter Cassandra Blanchette (Brady), great-great-grandson Colt, great-granddaughter Jenna Blanchette (Tristan), grandson Richard Sorenson (Nancy), great-grandsons Eli Sorenson and Ben Sorenson, and great-granddaughter Lily Sorenson.
