THERENS

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Teri Dawn Therens, on Monday, May 11th, 2020 at the age of 62 years.

Teri was born in 1958 in Moose Jaw to Lyle and Frani Helland, the oldest of 7 children, and was raised in Mossbank, Ardil and Moose Jaw.  She met the love of her life, Greg, in 1971 at the age of 13 and they were married in 1976, having rarely spent a day apart since.

Teri will be met in Heaven by her dad, Lyle.  These two shared a very special and loving bond.  She was also predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Nick and Hazel Therens; and sister-in-law, LeAnne Helland.  Teri will be terribly missed by her husband, Greg Therens; daughters, Amber (Rion) and Ashley (Curt); grandsons: Zak, Reid and Logan; mother, Frani Helland; sisters: Traci (Randy) Scott, Tevi (Mark) Nergaard and Trelee Helland (Bruce); brothers: Dean, Dale and David; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Teri worked in the restaurant industry for over 40 years where she met so many people, and everyone loved her.  She loved camping with Greg, spoiling her grandchildren with treats every time they came over, tending to her flowers and backyard, and shopping around town with her daughters.

“T” cared about everyone and loved her family so deeply.  She always put family first and would do anything and everything for them.  She was the captain of the family, the glue, the leader, the one you always went to.  She organized all of the BBQ’s, events and parties.  Teri never skipped a beat, never stopped.  She had a love for life like no other.  She had the chance to cross an amazing item off of her bucket list – she went sky diving!

Teri had the ability to light up a room.  The minute she walked in with that amazing smile and infectious laugh everyone would smile.  You couldn’t help but love Teri, she smiled straight from her heart.  Nothing made her smile more than sitting around a campfire with Greg - her soulmate, her girls and sons-in-law, and of course her grandsons.  She was so proud of everything those boys did.

Teri loved being outside hanging out in her backyard, sitting in the sun watching Greg build her something in the shop.  She always had a project ready for him to make that beautiful backyard.

Due to the current health situation, a Private Family Service will be held at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Teri’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
