MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes signed Tyler Snead to a one-year extension on Thursday, keeping the American wide receiver under contract through the 2025 CFL season.

Rookie Geoffrey Cantin-Arku is making an impact with the Montreal Alouettes. Cantin-Arku has played 602 snaps this season with Montreal (10-1) despite being listed as the backup to standout middle linebacker Darnell Sankey.

VANCOUVER — Star defensive lineman Mathieu Betts is heading back to the struggling B.C. Lions.

Don't look now but Zach Collaros and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a win away from assuming top spot in the West Division standings.

TORONTO — Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris and cornerback Tyrell Ford of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were named the top offensive and defensive players Wednesday in the CFL's monthly honour roll. Harris earned a grade of 90.

TORONTO — Shawn Lemon won't be returning to the Montreal Alouettes' lineup any time soon. The CFL announced Wednesday an independent arbitrator had upheld its indefinite suspension of the defensive lineman for sports betting.

MONTREAL — Austin Mack didn’t take long to make up his mind. After being released by the Atlanta Falcons on Aug. 12, there was only one place he wanted to play outside the NFL: with the Montreal Alouettes.

TORONTO — Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Dru Brown and tackle Christian Covington of the B.C. Lions were the top offensive and defesive players in the CFL honour roll Tuesday. Brown captured top offensive honours with a grade of 86.

TORONTO — The defending Vanier Cup champion Montreal Carabins topped the first Canadian university football rankings list of the 2024-25 season.
