Draft-eligible Canadian Football League prospects put their best foot forward at the league’s Combine in Regina.

The CFL’s annual evaluation consisted of practice sessions, physical testing, and interviews with players and representatives from all nine teams.

Saskatchewan Huskies' receiver Daniel Weibe is using both his feet to make a lasting impression.

Weibe posted the second fastest short shuttle time ever at the combine, running the circuit in 3.95 seconds, seven-hundredths of a second off the record time of 3.89 seconds set by Dylan Hollohan from St. Francis Xavier in 2012.

Weibe, who has 1,838 receiving yards in 34 career games with the Huskies, also posted the fifth-fastest time in the 40-yard dash at 4.52 seconds and the fourth-best vertical jump at 37 inches. Out of the receivers who competed, he completed the third-most bench press reps with 15.

While happy with the results, Weibe wouldn’t say if they met his expectations.

“I don't want to limit myself either. I went out there, did my best and (go with) whatever comes of that.”

Weibe has used the entire off-season to prepare his audition for a professional football spot and is making the most of his opportunity.

“It's been a lifelong goal to get to this to potentially have an opportunity to play pro. It's been a lot of work to have this opportunity -- I'm really excited.”

Wiebe's next step is potentially hearing his name called during the CFL Draft on Tuesday, April 29. He hopes to get his foot in the door for a CFL training camp.
