The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive lineman Mike Rose.
The six-foot-one, 270-pound Rose was released by Calgary in January after spending eight seasons with the Stampeders. During his time in Cowtown, Rose was named to the All-CFL team three times, the West Division all-star team four times and won a Grey Cup title in 2018.
Rose signing in Saskatchewan reunites him with Riders' head coach Corey Mace, who was his defensive line coach when he joined the Stamps in 2017 through the 2021 CFL season.
The 32-year-old Rose started in all 18 regular-season games in 2024, racking up 19 defensive tackles, three tackles for loss, a team-leading six quarterback sacks, and one interception, which he returned 83 yards for a touchdown.
The Fountain Inn, South Carolina native signed with the Stampeders in 2017 after spending time with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent.
Rose played 86 regular season games with Calgary. He registered 143 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, 36 sacks, two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown, and three forced fumbles.
