216 new COVID-19 cases, 142 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (80), Far North East (29), North Central (21), North West (19), North East (13), Regina (8), Central West (6), Far North West (5), Central East (5), South West (5), South East (5), South Central (2), and Far North Central (1), with 16 cases pending residence information

There are 216 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 25, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (80), Far North East (29), North Central (21), North West (19), North East (13), Regina (8), Central West (6), Far North West (5), Central East (5), South West (5), South East (5), South Central (2), and Far North Central (1).

Both of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Sixteen cases are pending residence information.

Around two-fifths (40.7 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.

Approximately one-sixth (14.4 per cent) of new cases were fully vaccinated.

Thirteen previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the North Central (5), Far North West (3), North West (3), Far North Central (1), and Far North East (1) zones.

A total of 171 false positive cases were removed from the case counts of all zones.

There are now 52,845 reported cases, including 1,528 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 172 (14.3 new cases per 100,000). 

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 592.

A total of 12,441 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,184), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (665), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (338), Central West (150), Far North East (98), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 76 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 1,944 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,464,324.

There are 108 people in hospital. Eighty-eight people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (31), North Central (20), Regina (15), North West (8), South Central (4), North East (3), South West (2), Far North West (2), Central East (2), and Central West (1). Twenty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (10), North Central (5), Regina (3), North West (1), and South Central (1). Of the 108 patients, 77 (71.3 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

One hundred and forty-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 50,725 recoveries.

There were 3,195 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,006,962 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
