SaskTel service expansion includes Caronport

Earlier today SaskTel announced that several communities across the province — including Caronport — will now receive interNET Extended 25 and 50, as well as maxTV Stream services.

This will allow for download speeds of up to 25 and 50 Mbps, which SaskTel says is the fastest rural internet packages the company has ever offered.

maxTV Stream combines traditional television with content from apps like Netflix and YouTube. It is now available in over 200 communities in Saskatchewan.

Other communities that can now take advantage of these services include:

  • St. Walburg
  • Stenen
  • Sturgis

“Being Saskatchewan’s homegrown communications leader is a major point of pride for SaskTel and it’s this pride that helps drive us to bring the best products and services to residents throughout our province,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel president and CEO, in a press release.

“From communities with a few dozen residents to our province’s largest centres, we’re working hard to bring incredibly fast internet speeds and the next-generation in entertainment services to as many households as possible.”

SaskTel plans to invest $321 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2019/20 and over $1.4 billion through 2018-2023.
