Kenneth Wayne Avery
November 12,1937 - February 14, 2025
Ken passed away with his family by his side after bravely enduring lung disease for his last few years. Ken was born and grew up in the Marquis, Saskatchewan area where he graduated from high school.
Ken obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 1959, then obtained his Professional Teaching Certification in Regina in 1961. He went on to teach in Strasbourg, Brownlee, Briercrest and Mortlach. After teaching he became a realtor in Moose Jaw until he retired in 2002.
Ken was a supportive and loving father and grandfather. He was our calm in the storm whenever we needed him. Our love and admiration for Ken is immeasurable. He was always there to listen, teach, learn something new or help in any way he could as a father, grandfather, friend or coach.
Ken had a love for travelling to visit family while his health allowed. In his later years he enjoyed watching the Warriors at home with his grandkids. Right up until the end, he was more concerned about those he loved and cared for than himself. As sharp as a tack, he was fiercely independent until the end. We will miss him greatly.
We would like to thank the Mulberry Estate staff, the doctors and nurses at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital and a special mention to nurse Madison.
Ken was predeceased by his parents Percy and Pauline, brothers Walt and Keith, sister Marlene and ex-wife and long-time friend Joanne. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Frances Lynn (Guy Menendez), Bruce, and Jennifer (Scott Jacobson); grandchildren Elena, Alyssa, Sadie (Chase McWinnie), Athon, Brandon (Alex Ligtermoet), Nolen, and Caleb; great grandson Elliott Jacobson.
In living memory of Kenneth, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries). Blake Seebach- Funeral Director
