Murray Elliott

The family of Murray Neil Jack Elliott is sad to announce his passing on February 14, 2025 at the age of 64 years. Murray’s life was filled with challenges, accomplishments, risks and major victories. He was a warrior having served with the 2nd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, and most recently with the Commissionaires for the Moose Jaw City Police.

Murray was most proud of his sobriety of 14 years where he came to understand the fullness of his life experiences which he shared, not with grand gestures, but with the quiet quality of his involvement with his fellowman. Through his inner strength and resilience, he was able to overcome obstacles and through those qualities made our lives richer and fuller.

Murray was predeceased by his dad, Fayne (Spud); his mom Bette; and his sister Beryl. He is survived by his sister Faye, brother-in-law Ken, as well as nieces, nephews, and their families.

There will be an informal Celebration of Life on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7:00 PM, followed by an open AA meeting of the Hi-Steppers Group at 8:00 PM. The Celebration of Life is not a funeral or a memorial service. Murray did not want anything like that, he wanted people to have an opportunity to reflect, share and reminisce informally. Refreshments will be served. Both events will be at the Hi-Steppers Groups meeting room at St. Andrews United Church, 1st Ave. E. and
Athabasca St. Please use the west door.
