With heavy hearts the family of Ruby Elizabeth Douglas announce her passing on March 8, 2022. Ruby has joined her husbands, Ernie and Neil, her daughter Jeanette and son in law Doug Nichole. She was the last family survivor of the Luba and Jugoda Bokinac family. Ruby was a devoted mother and friend to all. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Dwayne (Sue); granddaughter Veronica and her son Damion; two special nieces Brenda and Stacia, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Ruby was born in Balgonie and later moved to Bethune, where she attended Gladstone school and finished high school in Bethune. Later she married Ernie Douglas for 48 wonderful years. After his passing she married Neil Soles for 15 years. Ruby loved farming, helping Ernie in all ways as a farmer’s wife. She had a green thumb and took pride in her garden and flowers. Ruby was also talented in many ways. She made wedding bouquets and corsages for many weddings, she enjoyed doing this for friends and family. Crocheting tablecloths and dollies which she used to entertain 20-30 people to a lovely supper followed by entertainment after. She loved to party. For 32 years she was a hair dresser alongside her daughter at their own salon widely known as Band City Beauty Salon. She proudly served her community in different organizations including leader of 4-H and CGIT. She was a proud member of the Moose Jaw Army and Navy Vets and The Royal Canadian Legion. She loved shuffleboard, dancing, bowling, and curling. There are many trophies to show her passion. Ruby and Ernie enjoyed travelling to Hawaii, California, Arizona, and Alaska. Ruby will be remembered as a devoted mother, a hard worker and loyal friend to all that knew her. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the K & S Community Hall in Bethune. Reverend Deacon Arleen Champion will officiate. Interment to follow at Bethune Cemetery where Ruby will be laid to rest with her husbands Ernie and Neil once again. In lieu of flowers anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in memory Ruby may be made to the Bethune United Church or Bethune Cemetery.
