TOKARCHUK
Eddie Tokarchuk aged91 years of Regina, SK, passed away on Friday, February 7th, 2025. Eddie was born to John and Anna Tokarchuk on June 27th, 1933. He was predeceased by his 1st wife, Marie Tokarchuk; his 2nd wife, Vicky Peters; parents, John and Anna, and siblings: Karolina, Jean, Marion, Josie, Mike, Lorne, and Emily. Eddie leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter, Wendy (Dwight) and their children Lyndon, granddaughter Sarynn, and Shilo, grandchildren Payton, Paige, great-grandchild Falyn. Eddie's son Brent also survives him, along with his grandchildren Alivia, Samantha, Kurtis, and Cassandra (Dominic), and great-grandchildren Benjamin, Alex, and Grace.
Eddie Tokarchuk was a beloved father and husband and was fondly known as "Uncle Eddie" by his nieces and nephews. Eddie lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.
Eddie had a passion for fishing and hunting, and he farmed in Lintlaw, Saskatchewan. He embraced a free-spirited life, travelling in his Boler and working for 55 years with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Eddie's love for his dogs, Casey and Bumbula, was evident to all who knew him.
An avid card player, Eddie's ante was always "2 bits," and his goal in cribbage was to "skunk" you every time. He was frugal with his "2 bits", and if he found himself skunked, he would graciously take his leave. Eddie enjoyed trips to the casino, where he would carefully spend his $5, and if he doubled his money, he was ready to call it a day.
Eddie had a unique way of leaving "snuff" on the cheeks of his nieces and nephews, blowing on it to dry even if they didn’t always appreciate it. It was a quirky tradition that everyone came to expect when visiting Uncle Eddie. He was an avid fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Edmonton Oilers, and he cherished those teams.
Eddie often fondly referred to Archie Bunker as a nice guy and reminisced about Relic from the Beachcombers. But to Eddie, none epitomized a “real” man other than John Wayne.
Eddie's memory will live on in our hearts, and his legacy of love, humour, and adventure will continue to inspire us all.
May Eddie rest in peace, surrounded by the love and warmth he shared with those he held dear.
