GLADYS MERLE FROEHLICH
Gladys Merle Froehlich aged 86 years, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Vernon, British Columbia, on Saturday, November 30th, 2024.
She was predeceased by husband, Garry; siblings: Margaret, Velma, Bob, Gerald, Jean, Jim, Rae, Ken, Paul, and Carol; as well as children, Gina and Gwen. Merle is survived by her children: Jody (Allen), Paula (Andy), Lyle (Debra), Lehellen (Ken), Vernon (Lori), and Murray (Dee); grandchildren: Ashton (Marlon), Chad, Ashley, Coleton (Sydney), Tess (Mike), Layne, Jamie (Keegan), Adam (Bailey), Sam, Liam, Molly, Carter (Caitlin), Emily (Tanner), and Kate (Spencer); as well as her nine great-grandchildren. Three siblings also survive her: Lyla, Doreen, and Wilf.
Merle was born in Saltcoats, SK to Marion and Matthew Thompson, one of fourteen children. She married Garry Froehlich in 1961 and together they farmed at Marquis, SK and raised a family of six children. Merle was an active member within her church and community while she raised her children.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful staff of Polson Special Unit in Vernon, British Columbia for taking such good care of our beloved mom for the past few years. Merle is now free to be reunited with family and friends. Rest In Peace Merle.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 20th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Father Felipe will officiate and a private interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery in Marquis for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Merle’s memory may be made to the CWL at St. John’s Church, Box 54, Marquis, SK SOH 2X0. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
