Donna Ma
It is with great sadness that we announce that Donna Ma passed away, on Thursday March 19, 2020, while awaiting liver transplant at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. Donna was born in Moose Jaw and grew up on the farm in the Boharm district. She attended Lindale Elementary School and graduated from Vanier Collegiate. Donna loved spending time with her cousins and took every opportunity to travel. She spent her summers at camp, later becoming a camp councilor at Kedleston Bible Camp. She enjoyed being a Pioneer Girls Leader and was very involved in her church youth group. Donna loved children and dreamed of getting married and having a family. In 1990 she realized her dream, marrying Kevin Ma. When their first son, Riley was born, Donna left her job at Trophy World and was thrilled to become a stay at home mom. Donna and Kevin soon welcomed their daughter Emily and son Tyler. Her kids were her world and she cherished every moment with them. However, she had plenty of love to share and doted on her nieces, nephews, grand nephews and grand niece. Donna loved her many trips to the Rocky Mountains with the family. She took great pleasure tending to her beautiful flower garden; pansies were her favorite! Donna was strong and independent but will be remembered most for her unconditional love and sweet humble nature. She was a giver. She never forgot anyone’s birthday and always had the perfect gift for every occasion. Donna had a way of making people feel special. She had the best advice and gave the best cuddles. After her own children were grown, she thoroughly enjoyed working at Sacred Heart School as lunch supervisor. As her illness progressed and she could no longer work, she often said she missed “her little gaffers”. Donna is predeceased by her father Vivian Doney; and father in law, Ming Kong. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Kevin and her three children, Riley, Emily (Ryan) and Tyler; her mother, Joan McNabb (Bill); her three sisters, Carol (Wes) Ranson, Nora Doney and Angela (Kirby) Klemenz; and her mother in law, Lai Hing. She will forever be in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, grand nephews and grand niece. In lieu of flowers, please sign your donor card. A Private Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery, in Moose Jaw. A Memorial Service for friends and family will take place at a later date. In loving memory of Donna, a memorial planting will be made by Jones - Parkview Funeral Services.
