There are two new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 596.
There are 258 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 27, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (61), North Central (36), Far North East (29), North West (23), North East (18), Regina (13), South East (12), Central West (10), Far North West (9), Central East (9), Far North Central (7), South West (5), and South Central (5).
Four of the five new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.
Twenty-one cases are pending residence information.
About two-fifths (40.3 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.
Six previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the North Central (3), North West (1), Central West (1), and Central East (1) zones.
There are now 53,262 reported cases, including 1,753 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 177 (14.7 new cases per 100,000).
A total of 12,441 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,184), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (665), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (338), Central West (150), Far North East (98), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 76 screened VOCs with residence pending.
An additional 2,822 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,469,601.

There are 97 people in hospital. Seventy-five people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (35), North Central (12), Regina (10), North West (7), North East (4), Far North West (3), South Central (2), South East (1), and Central East (1). Twenty-two people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (12), North Central (5), and Regina (5).
Of the 97 patients, 71 (73.2 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.
One hundred and five more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 50,913 recoveries.
There were 3,618 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,013,851 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
