Victor “Sandy” Sandberg aged 92 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 11th, 2025, with his wife Jackie at his side.
Sandy is survived by his wife, Jackie; son, Richard Sandberg (Jacquie); daughter, Suzi Watson (Dave); grandson, Conrad Abram (Kyla); sister, Shirley Wettlauffer; brothers, Jack Sandberg (Dee) and Bryan Sandberg (Merla); sister-in-law, June Sandberg; brother-in-law, Bernie Somerville (Lorraine); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pickering and Rhonda Renwick (Dale); as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Sandy was in the RCAF which led him to Marville, France where he met the love of his life, married her and brought a baby boy home to Richmond B.C. and then welcomed their daughter. They decided to move to Comox Valley to raise their family and he spent the rest of his career as a salesman with Ford Canada.
Sandy was very involved in sports and the community in the Comox Valley. He was a curler, softball player, golfer, and skiing enthusiast. He was also a member of the Legion, the Elks Club, golf club, and curling club. Sandy enjoyed meeting new people and carried on many conversations as he had the gift of the gab. He enjoyed travelling to Arizona and being a snowbird, his favourite food of course was ice cream.
We would like to give a special thank you to the EMTs, Fire Department and the Moose Jaw City Police.
A service to honour Sandy will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
