There are 190 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 19, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (40), North East (34), Far North West (26), Central East (20), North Central (14), Regina (14), North West (10), South East (8), Far North East (6), South West (6), Central West (4), and South Central (1).
Seven cases are pending residence information.
Less than one-half (43.2 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category
According to the provincial government, of the 190 new cases, 159 are in people who are not vaccinated, 13 are partially vaccinated, and 18 are fully vaccinated.
Twelve previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North East (6) North Central (3), Far North West (1), Far North Central (1), and Saskatoon (1) zones.
One Saskatchewan resident has been added to the case counts in the Saskatoon zone (1).
There are now 51,821 reported cases, including 1,203 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 129 (10.7 new cases per 100,000).
There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 586.
A total of 12,423 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,834), Saskatoon (2,173), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (877), North Central (661), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (338), Central West (150), Far North East (96), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 81 screened VOCs with residence pending.
An additional 2,841 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,453,199.

There are 86 people in hospital. Seventy people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (27), North Central (22), Regina (12), North West (4), South Central (4), and South West (1). Sixteen people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (9), Regina (4), North Central (2), and North West (1). Of the 86 patients, 65 (76 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.
Fifty-four more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 50,032 recoveries.
There were 2,088 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 993,042 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
