There are 54 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 9, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: North Central (12), Saskatoon (12), Far North West (5), Central West (4), Regina (4), North East (3), South West (3), South East (3), North West (2), Far North Central (1), Far North East (1), Central East (1), and South Central (1).
The new case in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.
Two cases are pending residence information.
There are now 50,614 reported cases, including 650 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 71 (5.9 new cases per 100,000).
There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 582.
A total of 12,387 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,837), Saskatoon (2,164), South East (1,156), South Central (891), North West (873), Central East (654), North Central (647), South West (416), Far North West (338), Central West (150), Far North East (88), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.
An additional 1,197 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,433,757.

There are 55 people in hospital. Forty-one people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (22), Regina (8), North Central (5), South East (3), North West (2), and South Central (1). Fourteen people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (6), Regina (5), and North Central (3).
Sixty-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 49,382 recoveries.
There were 1,122 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 974,957 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
